Modern Warfare 4 is bringing back Shipment tomorrow, and you know what that means

Modern Warfare 4 is bringing back Shipment to Call of Duty, giving players an early post-launch addition to its map roster. The notoriously small arena is a familiar sight for series veterans, and its return should provide plenty of opportunities for frantic firefights, quick kills, and some spectacularly unfortunate respawns. Because why would this series fix its respawn system?
Shipment launches on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, as a 6v6 Core map. This latest version takes place at a Russian harbor, surrounded by water and the concrete apartment buildings of the surrounding urban landscape. Its classic layout and appearance remain intact, but Modern Warfare 4’s visual and gameplay improvements give the returning map a fresh coat of paint. However, eagle-eyed players will note this version bears a strong resemblance to the 2007 iteration, and I’m all for it.
The appeal of Shipment has always been its simplicity. It’s basically an XP farming map. There is very little room to escape an incoming firefight, and opponents can appear from practically any direction. That makes it a popular choice for FPS players seeking fast-paced matches, although anyone hoping to enjoy a casual Team Deathmatch might want to reconsider. If you’re grinding camos, this is the place to do it.
The map’s arrival also adds to Infinity Ward’s already sizeable multiplayer offering. Modern Warfare 4 launched last week with 12 Core 6v6 maps, three 32v32 Ground War battlegrounds, and four 2v2 Gunfight maps. The modular Kill Block arena also supports 3v3 and 10v10 Gunfight, with more than 500 possible layout combinations, inspired in part by classic locations such as Crash, Highrise, and Shoot House.
Shipment is the first of the announced post-launch additions to arrive on October 27. It’s likely not the last map to pay homage to a previous game, so I’m expecting other iconic Modern Warfare locales to appear in the coming months. Its inclusion should give players a different experience from the larger launch maps, which span locations including a South Korean fishing village, a Mexican lithium refinery, and snow-covered New York rooftops.
Whether you’re looking to level up weapons, chase camo challenges, or simply enjoy the chaos of cramming too many players into a tiny space, Shipment welcomes you with open arms.
